Your aerial adventure takes place overlooking the land where Birmingham began. The Vulcan Materials Zip Trip offers a thrilling ride with breathtaking views. You’ll soar over Red Mountain’s natural landscape, historical mining sites, and the surrounding valleys.

For approximately one hour, you will be transported 40 feet above Red Mountain, traveling from one tree house to the next by a series of seven exciting zip lines and sky bridge and cable swing. The Vulcan Materials Zip Trip also includes a rope swing and rappel.

Accessibility: The Vulcan Materials Zip Trip can, oftentimes but not always, accommodate guests who use wheelchairs or crutches, but does require a two week notice so that Adventure staff may full prepare for a safe, fulfilling tour for each guest.

Requirements for Riding

Participants must be at least six years old, 50″ (4′ 2″) tall and weigh no more than 250 pounds. The harness must fit correctly: sometimes guests are too small for the harness even though they fulfill height and weight requirements.  Please note that we cannot accept riders who are pregnant or have serious heart, back or leg conditions.

Prepare for Your Adventure

  • Read our Policies and Procedures before registering for details on cancellations, bad weather and more
  • Keep your fashion to a minimum:
    • Wear outdoor, closed-toe shoes
    • Wear comfortable but not loose clothing
    • Leave the scarves, dangling jewelry and skirts at home
  • Park at the Frankfurt Drive cul-de-sac to access the Eureka Trail for your hike to the Can
  • Take deep breaths and give a lot of high fives
