Red Mountain Park’s 14-mile trail system traverses exciting and diverse terrain.

Stop and smell the oak leaf hydrangeas. Shred red rock. Uncover the site where miners sought ore. Soar through the long-leaf pines. Or kick back while your four-legged best friend romps and roams at Remy’s Dog Park.

Blaze a trail on the path where Birmingham began. All of the trails at Red Mountain Park are open to mountain biking. Please stay on the trails and consult the way-finding signage when necessary. The Park does offer bike racks and pumping stations for small repairs.

The Nomad

Everyone can experience the terrain of our trails.

The Nomad is a high-powered off-road wheelchair that has been generously donated by the Birmingham Association of Realtors. Red Mountain Park is grateful to Global Extreme Mobility for designing and building our customized chair.

Remy’s Dog Park

Remy’s Dog Park

Remy’s Dog Park’s is the largest dog park in Alabama, with 6 acres of green space featuring:

  • Three separate areas for large dogs, small dogs, and special needs dogs (elderly, shy, or injured dogs)
  • Large Dogs Area: 1.7 acres (approximately one and three quarters of an acre)
  • Small Dog Area: .7 acres (approximately three quarters of an acre)
  • Special Dog Area: .3 acres (approximately a third of an acre)
  • Pet waste stations and drinking water for dogs
  • Shaded areas with benches and open areas for running and fetching

Hours follow regular Park hours except for Wednesdays, when we take a few hours in the morning to make repairs and maintain the Park (opens at 10am).

Team Forging combines the elements of successful group dynamics and outdoor adventure into an exciting custom-designed team-building program for groups of any size. Adventure Guides will lead you on a journey through the historic backdrop of Red Mountain Park and incorporate activities and challenges that focus on the specific needs of each group.

With RMP Team Forging your group will be challenged in an outdoor setting with activities that provide a lasting experience and valuable take-away lessons.
